Glenn Hoddle has told the London Evening Standard that he hopes to see Kalvin Phillips back in the England squad this week, insisting that the Leeds United midfielder has a lot to offer at international level.
Phillips will be hoping to get the chance to add to his tally of four caps in the near future. The 25-year-old made his debut last September.

However, injury ruled him out of the most recent squad Gareth Southgate selected. But ahead of Thursday’s latest announcement for the games against San Marino, Albania and Poland, Hoddle suggested that he would like to see the Leeds stalwart return.
“I want to see Kalvin Phillips and James Ward-Prowse in there,” he told the London Evening Standard, when asked about the England squad.

“I think they have got to lot to offer international football. While Jordan Henderson is out, they will have an opportunity to hit Gareth between the eyes.”
It could potentially prove to be a crucial international break for players such as Phillips. He is one of those who possibly has a point to prove ahead of the European Championships this summer.
England have a lot of competition in the middle of the park. And while the game against San Marino will probably tell Southgate little, the clashes with Albania and Poland could present players with a good chance to really show what they can do.
If Phillips can replicate his performances for Leeds since returning from injury, he certainly has a fantastic chance of booking his ticket for the summer.
