Glenn Hoddle has told his Footy Show podcast that he believes Tottenham Hotspur can win the Premier League title this season, but claims Spurs are still behind Liverpool and Manchester City – and commented on Carlos Vinicius.
Spurs have started the 2020-21 campaign in excellent form. The north Londoners sit in second place in the Premier League table, and had they held on to wins over Newcastle and West Ham – they would be three points clear.
A penalty-shootout win over Chelsea has seen Spurs qualify for the last eight of the Carabao Cup, while Spurs look relatively comfortable in the Europa League. So, can Spurs win the Premier League?
Hoddle thinks Spurs are well within a shout of winning a trophy and believes they can win the title, but thinks Liverpool and City are better placed. He also believes Carlos Vinicius is a good signing for the north Londoners.

“I think they can win a trophy,” Hoddle said. “Whether they’re going to win the league, Manchester City and Liverpool are a long way ahead of Tottenham. But, in this Premier League, even Liverpool and City, will get beat.
“It’s really an intriguing season, if they are there or thereabouts in March or April, why not. Our front three is as good as anyone in Europe, Vinicius looks a good signing. It’s the other areas of the pitch where we lack consistency.”
TBR’s view – Spurs need clean sheets
Mourinho’s arrival was believed to steady the ship at the back, but the Portuguese gaffer struggled to do that upon his arrival. Since then, he has chopped and changed between his options at centre-back.
But the form of Eric Dier may now have coincided with Mourinho and Spurs finally plugging the gap. Three clean sheets in six games, conceding three goals in that time, Spurs have it all.
