Glenn Hoddle has responded on his podcast when asked whether Tottenham Hotspur should look to cash in on Tanguy Ndombele this summer, after the French midfielder was left on the substitutes bench against Sheffield United on Sunday.
Ndombele, 24, has endured a tumultuous couple of seasons at Spurs. A club-record signing from Lyon initially under Mauricio Pochettino, he started well but eventually that form dissipated and Pochettino was sacked – and replaced by Jose Mourinho.
As shown in the Amazon Prime documentary, his attitude and form under Mourinho was initially questioned but that changed during the first half of this season – starring alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. However, with Mason, he has started just once.

On Sunday, he was an unused substitute as Spurs cruised to a 4-0 win over Sheffield United and asked if he should be sold this summer – Hoddle responded by stating he should be kept but only as a squad player, labelling him a “playground player”.
