Glenn Hoddle has backed Tottenham Hotspur to beat Chelsea in a huge clash in North London tonight.

Hoddle has been speaking on talkSPORT this morning and discussed the upcoming London derby.

Tottenham are flying high at the moment and have the opportunity to go back to the top of the Premier League with a win tonight.

Ange Postecoglou’s men remain undefeated in the league and will face a Chelsea side coming off a 2-0 loss at home to Brentford in the league.

While Chelsea currently sit in 13th place and 14 points behind Spurs, their position doesn’t reflect the level of their performances so far.

The Blues have already picked up results against the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal but are struggling to find consistency under former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

And Hoddle believes they will suffer a narrow defeat this evening.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Hoddle looked ahead to a grudge match between two sides he has managed in the past.

The Tottenham legend was then asked for his prediction by host Andy Townsend, who said: “Quick prediction tonight Glenn, what you thinking?”

“2-1 Tottenham,” Hoddle responded.

Spurs certainly head into tonight’s clash as favourites given their early-season form under Postecoglou.

Tottenham will also have the home advantage and it looks set to be a hostile atmosphere as Pochettino returns to North London for the first time since 2019.

Chelsea have struggled in the final third this season and have often been punished for not taking their chances.

It’s been the opposite case for Spurs who have proven to be a clinical side so far, with Son Heung-Min bagging eight Premier League goals already.

In our view, Spurs will pick up a narrow win over their London rivals tonight and run out 2-1 winners.

It’s set to be a difficult game for Postecoglou though and Chelsea will pose arguably one of the toughest challenges the Aussie has faced so far.
