Glenn Hoddle has told the London Evening Standard that Emile Smith Rowe is one of the Arsenal youngsters who has the potential to become a top player.
Smith Rowe has been a revelation for Mikel Arteta’s men in recent times. The 20-year-old went into this campaign having only made two Premier League appearances for the Gunners.

And even this season, Smith Rowe had to bide his time for a chance in the top flight. But with the attacking midfielder impressing in the Europa League and Arsenal struggling in the league, Arteta handed him an opportunity towards the end of last year.
And he has taken it with both hands. The starlet has been outstanding for a rejuvenated Arsenal side.

Hoddle suggested that he has been a fan of the academy graduate for some time. And he insisted that he can see Smith Rowe enjoying an incredibly bright future.
“I saw him a few years ago come on in the Europa League and I was very impressed with him,” he told the London Evening Standard. “He was positive, he was very direct, and he has been given a chance now. It is nice to see some of these Arsenal youngsters, they have got a crop of real good youngsters.
“Long-term, they have five or six players who could go on and become top Arsenal players. Smith Rowe could be one of those, without a doubt.”
TBR View: Smith Rowe should relish Odegaard challenge
It does appear that Smith Rowe – who earns £15,000-a-week, according to the Daily Mail – has an opportunity to secure a spot in Arsenal’s side for years to come.
Of course, his pathway has been somewhat obstructed by the potential loan deal for Martin Odegaard (via Sky Sports). But that may actually help take some of the pressure off of the former Huddersfield Town loanee.
And if he is going to build upon the superb form he has shown, he should relish the chance to battle it out with the Real Madrid youngster.
