It was a great night all around for Liverpool this evening as they saw off Leicester City at Anfield thanks to a double strike from Diogo Jota.
For Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, things couldn’t really have gone much better. Jota scored the two, but he also managed to get nearly 90 minutes from new signing Luis Diaz. Further, Klopp also got Mo Salah on the pitch, while another clean-sheet will go down more than well with his defenders.
One of those defenders to contribute all night was Scottish left-back, Andrew Robertson. The former Hull man continues to impress at Anfield, and he was once again a thorn in the Foxes side. Interestingly, too, Robertson found himself having to link up with new man Diaz time and time again.

And according to Glenn Hoddle, who was on commentary for BT Sport in the game, the connection between Robertson and Diaz will have delighted Klopp.
“It’s been great to see, hasn’t it? They’ve linked up more than once tonight and Jurgen Klopp will be absolutely delighted,” Hoddle said live on co-comms.
Diaz, who was getting his first start in Liverpool red, came close to scoring on more than one occasion. But like so often in the PL, Kasper Schmeichel had the answers.
TBR’s View: Diaz And Robertson Looked Frightening
Especially so, given they’ve hardly had any time to work on things together. Individually, Robertson is a model of consistency. With Diaz, he simply already looks like a ready-made Liverpool player.
His speed, touch, and drive are clear as day for all to see. It’s abundantly obvious why the Reds signed him, and he already looks the part.
Suddenly, with the addition of Diaz, Liverpool look really strong in terms of depth. His goal will come, and once it does, you can imagine they’ll simply flow.
