Tottenham Hotspur winger Heung-min Son is worthy of his Ballon d’Or nomination, according to Glenn Hoddle.
The South Korea captain is one of 30 players nominated for the prestigious award, which will announce its winner in December.
It has been a superb year for Son, who scored 20 goals and made 10 assists in 48 appearances in the 2018/19 season.

The 27-year-old was brilliant despite having to miss several games as a result of international duty.
He also headed into the season off the back of the World Cup, meaning the star had very little chance to rest up.
Spurs fans were delighted Son received recognition for his efforts, even though they know he won’t actually win the gong over the likes of Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk.
Son, who got two goals against Red Star Belgrade during a 5-0 Champions League win on Tuesday, was praised by Hoddle for his recent contributions.

“Well I think the nomination yes, over the year he has been excellent. I don’t think he will win it, but he looks like he has got a lot of confidence from being one of the nominees,” he said on BT Sport (football.london).
“He’s gone out there and said ‘hang on a minute, people really do believe in me’.
“He had a tough couple of first seasons here at Tottenham, but once he’s settled down he had really shown his true abilities.”
TBR’s view – Son deserves recognition
Son’s contributions in the last year have been worthy of some kind of recognition and he fully deserves his place on the Ballon d’Or shortlist alongside some of the top names in football.

The £22 million signing from Bayer Leverkusen (BBC Sport) is without doubt one of Spurs’ most important players, and stepped up so often in the absence of talisman Harry Kane.
