Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle has claimed that current star Harry Kane will break the club’s all-time goalscoring record if he stays with them.
Kane reached a landmark 200 Spurs goals on Thursday, as he netted the opener in a 3-0 victory against Ludogorets in the Europa League group stages.
The England captain has started the new campaign on fire by scoring 12 goals in 13 games across all competitions, as well as contributing 10 assists as well.
Hoddle believes that centre-forward Kane may end up surpassing the club’s current all-time record goalscorer Jimmy Greaves, who managed 266 goals in 379 club appearanes.
“I think if he stays at the club he can catch Jimmy Greaves. He plays everything down, rightly so, I’m pretty sure deep down he wants to chase that [record],” Hoddle told BT Sport 2 (10:40pm, 5 November).

TBR’s View:
Aged 27, there is still plenty of time for Kane to overtake Greaves in the Spurs goalscoring standings and he could do it within the next few years if he continues at the current rate.
The world-class striker has been extremely loyal to Spurs since coming through their academy and already has icon status, but surely he won’t want to finish his career without a single piece of silverware.
Current manager Jose Mourinho is the man who was appointed by the North London club to try bring them their first trophy since 2008 and you sense winning something this season could turn out key to Kane’s long-term future.
