Rangers have been watching Josip Vukovic ahead of a potential summer move, according to reports.

As per talkSPORT, Rangers and Benfica have been scouting Maritimo star Vukovic with three Premier League clubs also in the hunt.

Chelsea, Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also keen on the 26-year-old, who plays as a midfield enforcer in the Portuguese league.

Vukovic could be a shrewd signing for Rangers but at £4m (talkSPORT), he is an unnecessary luxury.

That is because Rangers already have their long-term central midfielder in that mould after signing Glen Kamara in January.

The 23-year-old joined from Dundee and has already impressed fans with his four appearances for the Gers.

After opening his account against his former club, Kamara will hope to kick on and become a first-team star at Rangers.

The Finland international has all the ingredients to become a success and he is a proven performer in the Scottish Premiership.

And as he continues to improve, the ex-Arsenal midfielder has the potential to develop into a top class player.

Vukovic might prove to be a good signing for Rangers if they won the race but Kamara can save them £4m next summer.

That money can be reinvested in other departments which need to be addressed more urgently.
