Glen Kamara deal surely spells the end of the road for Lassana Coulibaly at Rangers

Rangers have secured a deal for Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara. The Finnish midfielder has been in fine form for the club this season and has signed a four-year deal. He will arrive on a Bosman transfer in the summer.

It is a decent deal for Rangers, who are improving their midfield options ahead of next season as they look to continue catching Celtic in the Old Firm race.

However, it is surely bad news for one current Rangers player.

Lassana Coulibaly is currently on loan at the Glasgow club from Angers. After initially impressing at Ibrox, his performances have begun to dip recently.

The Malian international has made it clear he would like to remain at the club. No fee is agreed between the two clubs regarding a future permanent arrival but Rangers would no doubt have to pay a six-figure sum to bring him in.

“Of course, I would like to stay in Rangers.

“I need to respect the contract that I have with Angers but if I am here next season I will be happy.”

Considering they have now managed to secure the services of a very similar player for much less, would suggest that is not an option they will likely consider.

Unfortunately for Coulibaly, it would appear his time at Rangers has an expiration date. That date is the end of the season.
