Gjanni Alioski missed Leeds United’s last four Championship matches including both play-off semi-finals against Derby County. But now, the winger has posted on Twitter confirming he has overcome his knee injury.
The 27-year-old has been crucial for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season, starting all 44 games for Leeds until he suffered the injury against Brentford. It saw him miss matches against Aston Villa, Ipswich and both Derby games.
Alioski is fighting to be fit for Macedonia’s 2020 European Championship qualifiers, which will see him take on Mateusz Klich’s Poland on June 7, before taking on Austria three days later.
The winger posted a video on Twitter which showed him undergoing some extensive work in the gym, including boxing and skipping. He captioned the video by saying it is “great to be back”.

TBR’s view
Leeds need Alioski to return fit as soon as possible, so the Macedonian star can undergo a full pre-season and be fighting fit for the start of the season.
If his injury eats into pre-season, it means he may not be ready for the beginning of the campaign. Losing Jack Harrison, and potentially Jack Clarke, means Alioski’s importance has grown.
