Jesse Marsch’s side also sent out a message to the rest of the league with a 3-0 hammering of Chelsea last week.

Leeds have started well in the Carabao Cup, progressing thanks to a 3-1 win over Barnsley in midweek.

The Whites boss and hierarchy oversaw a summer of change, signing seven new players.

Adams is one of Leeds’ new recruits, joining from RB Leipzig for a reported £15.3m.

The United States international has impressed so far, playing the full 90 minutes in each of Leeds’ league games so far.

“He helped me so much”

Speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, Adams praised Bamford for how he helped him settle in at the club.

Adams also said he was “very impressed” by how the £10million man has been performing in training.

“Pat, I’ll give him credit he’s class on the field,” said Adams. “He’s a top player.

“He’s someone that when he was coming into the team he helped me so much with everything. All the little details.

“Just someone who when you’re coming into the team you know who the stars of the team are, you don’t expect those players to be the first ones coming up to you giving you advice.

“He was one of those guys who came up to me immediately and helped me with all the little details. Helped me with what to expect when you play at Elland Road.

“On the field I was very impressed by him, I know he was just coming back from injury, but right away you could see the quality he had.

“We did a couple of finishing drills and I was like: ‘Give this guy the ball in the box and he’ll put it away’. He’s class.”
