Tottenham have reportedly enquired to Atalanta about Argentine centre-back Cristian Romero.
According to Sky Sports News, Spurs are keen on the Serie A defender. However, a deal will be difficult to complete with the Italian side setting a high asking price for the centre-back.
As per the report, Atalanta could demand as much as £39m for Romero. The 23-year-old star was last season named Serie A’s Defender of the Year.

Manchester United and Liverpool are also keen on Romero according to Calciomercato.
However, it appears that Spurs have the lead on their Premier League rivals.
And fans of the north London side are hoping Daniel Levy can pull off the signing this summer.

Indeed, Romero is one of the top defenders in Italy. And Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are keen on improving on their backline ahead of next season.
Here’s what some Tottenham fans had to say about the club being interested in Romero on Twitter…
