Wolverhampton Wanderers starlet Ryan Giles scored on his debut for his new club. Giles scored a long-range wonder goal for Shrewsbury Town after penning a loan deal this summer.

Shrewsbury got off to a winning start against promotion hopefuls Portsmouth. It was a narrow 1-0 win courtesy of Giles’ thunderbolt into the top corner.

The 19-year-old – who is regarded as a top talent for the future – was playing his first-ever game in the Football League. He had previously played against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup – his only appearance for Wolves’ first-team to date.

Giles also previously spent time on loan at Telford but he is now trying his luck in League One. And he has immediately endeared himself to Shrewsbury fans with a stunning goal.

The teenage midfielder broke the deadlock on 68 minutes and Shrewsbury were able to hold out for the victory. Giles will now be hoping to build on this impressive debut.

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo will be checking on Giles’ progress ahead of next season. If he impresses enough for Shrewsbury, Giles could earn his chance in summer 2020.
