A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Serge Aurier’s Instagram video showing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s shin wound being cleaned up the day after Spurs’ League Cup semi-final victory.

Jose Mourinho’s charges are in the final of the competition after beating Brentford 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the reward a trip to Wembley in April to take on either Manchester City or Manchester United.

Moussa Sissoko opened the scoring with a 12th-minute header and Son Heung-min added a second midway through the second half, but there was drama late on as Hojbjerg found himself on the receiving end of a fierce studs-up tackle from Josh Dasilva.

The 22-year-old was sent off following a VAR review of the foul, which broke Hojbjerg’s shin pad and left the Denmark international cut and bleeding, and although he tried to play on, Jose Mourinho was forced to substitute him minutes later.

On Wednesday, Aurier posted footage on his Insta story (as shared on Twitter by The Spurs Web) of Hojbjerg receiving treatment at Hotspur Way:
