‘Give him a contract’: Manchester City fans react to Fernandinho interview

Manchester City fans were urging Pep Guardiola to give Fernandinho a fresh contract last night, after the Brazilian’s heartwarming interview following the Aston Villa game.

City ran out 2-1 winners despite going one nil down and having John Stones sent off before half-time. It was a result which edged Pep Guardiola’s men ever close to reclaiming the Premier League title.

But the result was secondary for some last night. Indeed, it seemed that way for club captain Fernandinho, who gave a passionate interview after the game where he praised the fans and shot down the idea of a Super League.

Of course, the interview soon did the rounds on social media, and Twitter was awash with comments from Manchester City fans singing the praises of the experienced midfielder.

It seems that City fans are desperate to see Fernandinho rewarded with fresh terms. His interview seemingly being the final proof in the pudding that the Brazilian does indeed deserve to stay in Manchester for now.
