Glasgow Rangers have announced that Giovanni van Bronckhorst is the new manager at Ibrox.
The Rangers cult hero returns to Ibrox – subject to receipt of a work permit – to succeed Steven Gerrard as first-team boss.
“I am absolutely delighted to be returning to Rangers as the club’s new manager,” he told the Gers media team.

“I feel so lucky to be going to work with a squad which is in a great position on all fronts and largely has that experience of being winners.
“I look forward to carrying on and enhancing the work that has been done already alongside Ross Wilson and the board of the club, and I’m grateful for the chance to work again at this huge football club.”
Van Bronckhorst played for Rangers between 1998 and 2001.
He won five trophies while playing for the famous club, including two league titles.

The 46-year-old also played for Barcelona, Arsenal and Feyenoord, as well as winning over 100 caps for the Netherlands.
Van Bronckhorst has also managed Feyenoord, leading them to the Eredivisie title in 2017 – their first in 18 years.
He also won two KNVB Cups and two Johan Cruyff Shields while in charge of the Rotterdam club.
Van Bronckhorst was a free agent after leaving Chinese Super League club Guangzhou R&F in December 2020.
Many Rangers fans are delighted with the news and some took to social media to praise their new manager:
