Giovani Lo Celso posts message on Instagram after being left out for Tottenham v Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur take on Chelsea this afternoon and the big news emerging from the team news perspective for Spurs is the omission of midfielder, Giovani Lo Celso, from the matchday squad.
The Argentinian has been completely left out by Antonio Conte, who has opted for other players in his place. Of course, with no Dele Alli either, this will only fuel the fire and notion that both players could be sold this winter.
Lo Celso is back fit but has hardly featured under Conte. For today, the Spurs boss has selected Harvey White over the Argentina international, which is a telling call from the Tottenham coach. And adding even more intrigue to the situation, Lo Celso himself has taken to Instagram to confirm he is fully fit.
The message from Lo Celso seems to insinuate he has no issue with being dropped. Indeed, it’s quite classy from the midfielder, although there is the underlying current there in that he is admitting he is fully fit and ready.
Lo Celso, then, could well be moved on in the coming days. With just a week or so of the window remaining, it seems Antonio Conte is reaching some crunch decisions.
TBR’s View: Lo Celso On His Way From Spurs?
Well, if there was ever an indication he is, then this is it. Being left out for a big London derby while another seasoned midfielder is also dropped is a tell-tale sign that Conte doesn’t fancy Lo Celso.
In fairness, he’s hardly lit the world up since his move to London. He’s done it in sporadic moments and at times, looked a good player. However, if Tottenham do sell, you can’t say they’ll miss him too much.
Ultimately, this looks like being another expensive signing by Spurs who’s failed to deliver. Something that simply has to change if Spurs want success under Conte.
