Tottenham's Giovani Lo Celso sends five-word message to Lionel Messi on Instagram after World Cup semi-final yesterday

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has now sent a five-word message to Lionel Messi on Instagram after the World Cup semi-final yesterday.

Lo Celso was sent out on loan by Antonio Conte for the season after he failed to make an impression on the Spurs boss.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a brilliant second-half of the last campaign with Villarreal as he reached the Champions League semi-final under Unai Emery.

The Spurs man then returned to the Spanish outfit over the summer on a season-long loan deal after being deemed surplus to requirements by Conte.

Despite his lacklustre form for Spurs since making the switch from Real Betis, Lo Celso has been a standout performer for Argentina. But he was ruled out of the World Cup after suffering a muscle injury and has been forced to watch Lionel Scaloni’s men reach the final from the sidelines.

Argentina put in an emphatic display against Croatia last night as they picked up a convincing 3-0 win to see them through to the final. And after another eye-catching display from Messi, Lo Celso has sent him a message on social media.

Lo Celso sends message to Messi

Messi put in another brilliant display last night as he emphatically smashed his penalty into the top corner to open the scoring.

The 35-year-old then produced a solo run that rolled back the years to set-up Julian Alvarez for Argentina’s third of the night.

The Paris-Saint Germain star then took to Instagram after the game to express his delight at reaching the final of the World Cup.

And Spurs loanee Lo Celso replied underneath the post: “GRACIAS POR TANTO FÚTBOL,” which translates to “Thanks for so much football.”

Lo Celso’s time at Spurs just hasn’t worked out but he’s been able to show his qualities in Spain and for Argentina.

He will be devastated that he missed out on the tournament in Qatar, especially as La Albiceleste now have a brilliant chance of winning the competition.

But it seems Lo Celso is still cheering his countrymen on from the sidelines as Messi aims to win his first World Cup in what could be his last appearance at the tournament.
