Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has insisted the squad are feeling confident again after two wins from two in the Jose Mourinho era.
The summer loan signing from Real Betis, who is yet to feature under the new manager, is excited by the Portuguese’s appointment but insists it will take time to adapt to his methods.
He told Sky Sports: “It takes time for the team to take on board all the new ideas – we know they bring with them new ways of working, new methods, new ideas.
“The main thing is this period started with a victory initially and that gives confidence, not only to the players, but also to the coaching staff and manager as well.
“I think it will take time to really take on board the new ideas and tactics, but I think we’ve started well and that’s a positive.”
On his own lack of minutes so far under the Special One, Lo Celso added: “It’s the manager’s decision at the end of the day, we’re just professional players.”
TBR’s view – Lo Celso comments exactly what fans want to hear
Lo Celso’s summary of the state of play will provide major encouragement for the supporters.
There has certainly been a response to the managerial change, but to hear that confidence has risen again will be welcomed by fans.
Lo Celso will hope to have some kind of involvement against Bournemouth on Saturday, but with Dele Alli back in form and Christian Eriksen having changed the game against Olympiacos.
