Giovani Lo Celso left seriously impressed by £22m Tottenham player’s display vs Crystal Palace
Giovani Lo Celso was left seriously impressed by Tottenham Hotspur youngster Bryan Gil’s display against Crystal Palace last night.
Spurs got back to winning ways with an emphatic 4-0 victory at Selhurst Park. Antonio Conte’s side started the game positively and on the front foot but had to withstand a wave of Palace attacks before half-time.
Tottenham fans may have feared the worst going into half-time, especially after their display against Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.
But Spurs got off the mark through Harry Kane right after half-time and didn’t look back. The Englishman grabbed his second just minutes later after linking up brilliantly with Gil.
The youngster was handed his second start in the space of a few days and really impressed in south London last night.
Gil was involved in three of Tottenham’s goals and really showed Conte that he is capable of stepping up in the absence of Dejan Kulusevski. And on-loan Spurs star Lo Celso was certainly impressed by the £22 million forward’s showing.

Gil took to Instagram last night and expressed his delight at picking up a vital win away from home. The Spaniard posted three pictures of himself in action at Selhurst Park and Lo Celso replied.
The midfielder is currently on loan at Villarreal but took some time to praise his old teammate by leaving three star eye emojis and the same number of round of applause emojis beneath the post.
Gill would have been disappointed after failing to make an impact against Villa a few days ago but he certainly impressed last night.
He linked up brilliantly with both Kane and Heung-Min Son in the second-half and gave Conte some food for thought about his readiness to play in the Premier League.
Last night’s win came at the perfect time for Spurs after picking up just one point since the World Cup.
Conte has come under some scrutiny over the past week but will be delighted with his side’s response in the second-half.
Son was also back amongst the goals, while Matt Doherty got on the scoresheet and Ivan Perisic provided an assist.
Tottenham face some tough tests ahead over the next month as they host league leaders Arsenal and play Manchester City twice. But last night’s result should give them a much-needed boost ahead of a difficult run.
