Giovani Lo Celso has dropped an enormous hint on Instagram by posting a farewell message to one of his coaches amid reports that the Real Betis star is set to sign on the dotted line with Tottenham Hotspur.
It has been widely reported that Tottenham hope to complete a deal to sign Argentina international Lo Celso in the next few days, with Mucho Deporte claiming Spurs have upped their offer to £54million to get a deal done.
It is clear to see why Spurs are interested. Aside from the Argentine contingent that is ever growing at Spurs, Lo Celso scored 16 goals from midfield last season as well as laying on six assists. Five goals came in the Europa League.
Now, Lo Celso has Tottenham fans’ tongues wagging after posting on Instagram a heartfelt message that seemed to suggest Lo Celso was saying goodbye to a coach. His message is translated as: “Thanks for everything, teacher.”
TBR’s view – Lo Celso a class signing for Tottenham
Anything below £60million and Spurs have got a real player on their hands for a decent figure, given the former Paris Saint-Germain star does not turn 24 until April 2020.
The Argentine connection at Spurs is growing, with Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff joined by Juan Foyth, Paulo Gazzaniga and Erik Lamela. One or even two new players could be added to that.
With Lo Celso seemingly set to join, Spurs can completely turn the Premier League title on its head if they can also add Paulo Dybala – another Argentine. But with the signing of Lo Celso, Spurs are adding serious quality.
