Giovani Lo Celso can help solve Tottenham creative issue

Tottenham have certainly not been been at their dazzling best at the beginning of the season and there is an early issue for manager Mauricio Pochettino to fix.

Spurs have four points from their opening three league games and a reoccurring theme so far has been a lack of creativity.

They were struggling against Aston Villa on the opening day, before three late goals in the final 20 minutes finally got through a resilient defence to secure a win.

The North London club then managed just three attempts on goal during the 2-2 draw against Manchester City and fortunately they were clinical in front of goal.

They were once again lacking in the final third at the weekend, as they lost 1-0 at home to Newcastle United and managed two shots on target in the entire match.

Spurs have some excellent finishers in their squad with the likes of Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Heung-Min Son, but the current problem is creating clear goalscoring chances and they need to improve in that aspect.

Pochettino does have an ace up his sleeve in summer addition Giovani Lo Celso, who is being eased into English football right now.

The 23-year-old central midfielder has had just two brief appearances from the bench so far in a Spurs shirt, but will add a creative spark when he’s fully up to speed.

His cameo against Newcastle saw him supply a superb through ball to Kane into the penalty area, where he was then challenged by Jamaal Lascelles and many felt it should have been a spot-kick.

Lo Celso has given supporters a glimpse of his talent and he’s a brilliant weapon to bring into the XI moving forward.

The Argentine has excellent vision and an eye for a pass, while last season he was directly involved in 22 goals across all competitions for Real Betis.
