Tottenham Hotspur earned an excellent 4-0 away win over Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday night in the Champions League, which saw Giovani Lo Celso score his first goal for Spurs – and he posted on social media, as did Ryan Sessegnon.
Spurs dominated throughout the match, despite the game being billed as a tricky away encounter. Last season, Belgrade beat Liverpool 2-0 at home. But Spurs got the ball rolling early on, as Lo Celso gave Tottenham the lead.
A goalmouth scramble saw Son Heung-min hit the bar before Lo Celso picked up the ball and flicked Spurs into the lead. In the second-half, Spurs were rampant. Son notched a well-taken brace, while Christian Eriksen came off the bench to find the net.
It is Tottenham’s biggest ever away win in Europe and there have been plenty of plaudits on Twitter after the match for their efforts. New signings Lo Celso and Sessegnon – who came on as a substitute – posted on their social media accounts.
Job done ✅ Tough place to go but a positive performance all round from the team. Improving every day and a proud moment for me making my UCL debut 💙 pic.twitter.com/JUPEf1SLRv

TBR’s view – Could it be a turning point for Tottenham?
Certainly, the creativity was back. It has been missing in recent matches, but Harry Kane dropped deeper and orchestrated proceedings with the defence in front of him – rather than behind him.
But if Spurs are to finally turn the corner and get their season off and running, they must begin to show their class in the Premier League – mirroring the kind of result they produced on Wednesday night.
Spurs play host to Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon, with the Blades in excellent form after beating Burnley 3-0 on Saturday. It will be a tough match, but Spurs need to win.
