Arsenal ensured local bragging rights after beating Tottenham 2-1 in the North London derby at the Emirates Stadium. Afterwards, Gilberto Silva suggested what he thought the Gunners did really well.
Mikel Arteta’s men defeated their rivals thanks to goals from Martin Odegaard and Alexandre Lacazette, with Erik Lamela scoring for the visitors with a scrumptious rabona.
The Argentine was sent off during the second half and former Arsenal midfielder Silva felt as though the Gunners played really well against 10 men.
After posting a congratulatory Tweet one Arsenal fan pointed out that Tottenham were actually the better side with 10 men.
Silva, however, felt that the Gunners played well against Spurs, stating it can sometimes be a more difficult challenge.
Arsenal remain tenth in the Premier League but the signs are encouraging for the Gunners for the remainder of the campaign.
Arteta’s team are just five points off sixth place and will take confidence from their win over Tottenham.
Getting one over Jose Mourinho will have delighted the club’s supporters and it’ll be hoped they can now kick on even further.

Silva knows all about winning games of football against Tottenham and as a former player, it clearly delighted him to see Arteta come out on top on Sunday.
Arsenal did slack off somewhat once Lamela had been dismissed but in large it was a superbly executed game plan by the Gunners.
With the club still in Europe, there is hope that this season can still prove to be a positive one as far as Arsenal are concerned.
