Gilberto Silva shared his delight on Twitter after Arsenal beat London rivals Chelsea 1-0 on Wednesday night in the Premier League.
The Gunners secured a narrow victory at Stamford Bridge to keep their outside shot of finishing in the European positions alive.
Mikel Arteta’s side had their backs against the wall for large parts of the game, but defended heroically after switching to a three at the back system to match up their opponents.
Emile Smith Rowe, 20, was the match-winner for Arsenal with his goal early in the first half.
The attacker capitalised on a poor error from Chelsea’s Jorginho to guide the ball into the net from close range.
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Silva posted on Twitter after his former club secured the win, which included the three-word verdict on Smith Rowe that he “always looks good”.
TBR’s View:
It’s been an extremely disappointing season for Arsenal, but completing a league double over rivals Chelsea is something to be cheerful about for them.
They need to win their final two league matches to try squeeze into the European spots, something which could at least salvage their season.
As soon as that’s done, all eyes will be on how much change takes place at the Emirates Stadium over the summer.
Unfortunately, there are plenty in the Arsenal squad not at the level required.
Smith Rowe, along with others, are examples though that the Gunners do have some star quality in their squad right now, and the English playmaker is the kind of individual they can build an XI around next season.
