Gilberto Silva delivers Twitter reaction as Arsenal win and Tottenham lose

It was a good weekend for Arsenal as beat Norwich, while Tottenham lost to Patrick Vieira’s Palace – and Gilberto Silva has posted his verdict on Twitter.

Arsenal and Tottenham went into their weekend games at either ends of the table. Arsenal had suffered three straight defeats in their opening fixtures.

Tottenham, meanwhile, went into their clash at Palace having won their first three. But they were humbled by Arsenal legend and manager Vieira.

Arsenal inched past Norwich with a 1-0 win, finally getting their first points of the season. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted his fourth of the season.

The win came after Tottenham had been hammered 3-0 by Palace, with Wilf Zaha scoring – and substitute Odsonne Edouard netting a brilliant brace.

Arsenal icon Silva reacted on Twitter the following day. He applauded Arsenal and his old teammate Vieira for beating North London rivals Spurs.

Gilberto Silva on Arsenal and Tottenham: A sign for the season?

No-one expected Arsenal to stay in the bottom half of the Premier League for the remainder of the season. Mikel Arteta relieves some pressure.

Arsenal have had to tend with numerous issues. Multiple positive tests, injuries and tricky opening games against Manchester City and Chelsea.

No-one wants to play against a newly-promoted side away from home in the first game of the season. Brentford beat Arsenal 2-0.

Arsenal will improve as they get their bigger players back and confidence grows. A lack of European action could actually work in their favour.
