Manchester City have engaged in talks over signing Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, TBR Football can exclusively reveal.

Despite winning the Champions League last season, Gianluigi Donnarumma is considering his future at PSG, and that has alerted a number of clubs to his possible availability this summer.

Donnarumma has just one year left on his contract in France, and the Italian has rejected a number of approaches from PSG this year about a new deal.

In fact, the goalkeeper has even snubbed talks since PSG’s Champions League final success in May.

And now Manchester City are prevailing as a possible landing spot for one of the best goalkeepers in world football, who still has a lot left to achieve at 26 years old.

That considered, chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that City have engaged in talks when approached about a potential deal with Donnarumma.

City are open to parting company with Ederson, who has been their number one since his arrival in 2017.

PSG do not want to lose Donnarumma for nothing in 12 months and are therefore doing work on potential options to replace him, and that’s sparked interest in FC Porto’s Diogo Costa.

And whilst PSG are making moves, Donnarumma’s camp have been doing their due diligence on potential landing spots.

As a result, a host of clubs see the Italian as a ‘marquee’ signing and a ‘generational’ talent.

Donnarumma would expect to arrive at his new club as the world’s highest paid goalkeeper, a title which is currently held by Manuel Neuer at Bayern Munich by most estimations.

Chelsea have also been offered Gianluigi Donnarumma

Turkish giants Galatasaray have been the first to make their move for Donnarumma this summer.

Galatasaray have already prepared a wage offer that would put the goalkeeper on terms with their new star signing Victor Osimhen.

And in addition, TBR Football can confirm that Chelsea have also been approached by Donnarumma’s camp.

Enzo Maresca’s side are still in the market for a number one this summer and they have previously shown strong interest in Donnarumma, however, nothing has advanced from their end.

AC Milan are also open to bringing Donnarumma back to Italy with Max Allegri at the helm, but their ideal scenario would be landing him for nothing next summer as a replacement for Mike Maignan.

Chelsea have tried to sign Maignan already this summer, and the Frenchman’s contract is due to expire in 12 months.

And in addition to the teams mentioned, Bayern Munich are also keeping abreast of the situation.
