'Getting robbed in broad daylight': Some Arsenal fans shocked by transfer rumour they've heard
Arsenal fans have reacted with dismay to reports that the Gunners could be selling Matteo Guendouzi for around £10m.
According to Goal.com, Arsenal and Marseille have reached an agreement over a loan-to-buy deal for Guendouzi.
The Gunners midfielder will initially join Marseille on loan for the 2021-22 season, claimed the report.
The deal reportedly includes an obligation to buy Guendouzi next summer.
In all, Arsenal will receive around £10m for the France U-21 international, added the report.
Marseille will reportedly pay a loan fee of £850k for the coming season and then around £9m to turn the move permanent next summer.
Given how much potential Guendouzi has, some Arsenal fans are shocked to read that he could be leaving for such little money.
Here is some of the reaction to the report:
We’re getting robbed in broad daylight lol. Guendouzi is atleast a 30m player. Same with Xhaka. But we’re getting a grand total of 30m combined from both of them lol wtf.— 🔴⚪️ (@___13245) July 3, 2021
Agree with the general opinion here. Not sad to see him go, just disappointed it’s for so little. Our insistence on airing our dirty linen in public is seriously harming our ability to negotiate. Can’t help feeling Leicester would’ve made at least 40 million out of this.— Paul Samuels (@PaulSamuels1978) July 3, 2021
This is very sad. He was an Arsenal type of signing. Young, talented, kind of under the radar and with character. Such a shame Arteta could not manage him like Emery. He would have been a great part of this core of young people with Saka, ESR, Martinelli, Saliba and co.— Axel Nuricumbo (@AxelNuricumbo) July 3, 2021
Arsenal are literally the worst club in football at being able to sell a player…if Guendouzi was a Chelsea, Liverpool or even a Southampton player he would have gone for £20m+ easily. Absolute state of the club— #KroenkeOut (@BlockyBalboa79) July 3, 2021
10M my word Edu is awful.— Matthew Bauer (@mattbauer__5) July 3, 2021
This deal is annoying. Sell Willock, Nketiah not Guendozi. A young player of such quality goes for 10million pounds? These guys are going to ruin Arsenal FC.— Ezekwe Emmanuel (@EmmanuelMick6ix) July 3, 2021
Lets hope Arteta gets the sack and the next manager brings him back. This is getting ridiculous now what’s happening to Arsenals young players. Saliba is next— Alom Tha Great (@alom1807) July 3, 2021
