'Getting better and better': Some Sunderland fans wowed by player's display v Wigan
Some Sunderland fans have waxed lyrical about Dennis Cirkin following his display in the League Cup on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old joined the Black Cats from Spurs in the summer and has made eight appearances to date for his new club.
Cirkin’s efforts have helped Sunderland go up to second in the League One table after seven games.
And on Tuesday, the full-back delivered an impressive performance as Lee Johnson’s charges reached the League Cup fourth round.
Against Wigan, Cirkin shone both in defence and going forward.
He nearly scored an amazing goal too, as he surged forward from his own half and had a shot.
It was a great night for Sunderland fans, and Cirkin was just one of many players praised for his efforts:

Cirkin mint again, Broadhead ran the line superbly and Dajaku looks a good find
And best of all, I’m loving watching us play every week at the minute the way we shift it about the pitch #SAFC
Really think once he’s gets a chance in a league game, he’ll be there for years, just like Cirkin— Jon Place (@JonathanPlace1) September 21, 2021
Sunderland took the lead on 26 minutes through Nathan Broadhead’s first for the club following good work from Alex Pritchard.
Luke O’Nien then extended his side’s lead in the second half to ensure the Black Cats would make the last 16 of the competition.
