The January transfer window is open, and Arsenal have work to do.
The Gunners are notably in the market for a new midfielder and a new striker, but perhaps signing a new winger wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world either.
Gabriel Martinelli is out of sorts at the moment, while there’s no real Bukayo Saka backup in the squad.
Speaking on The Arsenal Beat Podcast, Sam Dean has been discussing the idea of Michael Olise heading to the Emirates now, and he agrees that the Crystal Palace star would be a good signing for Arsenal.
Interestingly, Dean also suggests that this deal wouldn’t be impossible to pull off, claiming that Olise would be gettable for Arsenal to a certain degree as murmurings around a release clause in his contract continue to persist.

Olise could be gettable
Dean shared his verdict on the £35m man and a potential move to Arsenal.
“Olise I think is a great shout, but the cost would be high. All sorts of murmurings about a release clause in his new deal, so you have to imagine he’s gettable to a degree, but he would be expensive. The feeling with him and with wingers, it’s so hard to pitch to players to come to Arsenal and play in the same position with Bukayo Saka, and I’ve not seen enough of Olise as a 10 or on the left to say he can play there,” Dean said.
Incredible attack
If Olise were to join Arsenal then the Gunners would have one of the best attacking lineups in world football.
Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard as options down the left accompanied by Bukayo Saka and Michael Olise as options down the right, that is a truly incredible lineup of wide talent.
Of course, Arsenal would need a clinical striker to complement all of that, and that seems to be their priority this month, but it has to be said that Olise would be an incredibly exciting signing if Arsenal were to go down that path.
This may be one to keep an eye on. After all, it has been stated in the past that Arsenal are big fans of the Palace ace.
