'Get it done Txiki': Some Man City fans beg club to sign 'unreal talent' after transfer update
Man City have reportedly cooled their interest in Sporting Lisbon teenager Nuno Mendes.
According to the Mirror, Pep Guardiola’s side won’t attempt to sign the youngster until after Euro 2020. Mendes is the youngest member of the Portugal squad that will compete this summer.
Real Madrid are also keen on the defender, and the La Liga side could firm up their interest in Mendes should he impress this summer. City are looking for a new left-back this summer, with Benjamin Mendy likely to depart.
The Cityzens spent last season swapping between Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back. And Man City supporters see Mendes as a player who could take over the position for both the present and future.
Indeed, fans are not pleased that City could be delaying a move for the teenager to allow the Euros to finish. Some supporters are certain that Mendes could be at the club next season if they make a move ahead of Madrid.
Here’s what some Man City fans had to say about the update on Mendes on Twitter…
