Everton are reportedly leading the race to try sign Max Aarons from Norwich City – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are thrilled by the speculation.
Well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on his Twitter that the Toffees are in “advanced talks” to try sign the 21-year-old from Championship club Norwich, who have secured promotion back to the Premier League for next season.
It is explained that the Merseyside giants are progressing in their negotiations for the defender, and are hopeful of reaching a deal soon to fend off other suitors.
Aarons was part of the Norwich team that were relegated last year, but he’s stayed around at Carrow Road to get them straight back up with promotion.
He’s an attack-minded young right-back with plenty of pace and athleticism, providing four league assists so far this season.
Reports suggest there has been plenty of clubs interested in him, but Everton are closing in on a deal.

If you consider he’s an England Under-21 international and already has plenty of top experience, he seems like a brilliant transfer target.
A selection of Everton supporters on social media agree that the full-back is exactly what they need.
They haven’t had to think about their right-back position for several years due to the sheer consistency of Seamus Coleman, but young competition for the 32-year-old could be great for the squad.
Carlo Ancelotti enjoyed a superb transfer window last summer to improve the XI, so it’ll be intriguing to see if he can repeat that.
