Liverpool under 23s battled to a 1-1 draw with local rivals Everton this evening, as Tyler Morton cancelled out Rhys Hughes’ goal for the Blues.
Morton was one of a number of Liverpool players to put in good performances, and he capped it with a fine finish from just outside the box which looped over Harry Tyrer in the Everton goal.
The youngster’s goal meant spoils were shared on Merseyside in a game with plenty of watchful eyes, including Jurgen Klopp’s assistant, Pep Ljinders.

But with the first-team struggling for goals and Morton getting in on the goalscoring act, some Liverpool fans were quick to call for the youngster to be given the call into Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Twitter was awash with comment suggesting Morton be given a go, and although some were tongue-in-cheek, it appears some Reds fans are deadly serious seeing Morton help the first XI out.
