Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has posted on Instagram that he is “hungry for more” after featuring in Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Audi Cup semi-final in Germany.
The 24-year-old winger was left out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour of Asia earlier this summer, with the club confirming themselves that the Frenchman had been left out of the squad in order to find a new club.
He joined Danny Rose and Vincent Janssen in being left out for that reason, and Dutch striker Janssen has since moved to Mexico to join Monterrey. Rose, meanwhile, has remained at the club and also featured against Madrid.
Unlike Rose, Nkoudou is still very much on the sidelines after managing just 26 competitive outings since joining Spurs for £11million (Guardian) three years ago. Despite the likelihood he will leave, he said he wants “more”.
TBR’s view – Nkoudou needs to leave Tottenham permanently
Unfortunately for Nkoudou, there is no chance that he is going to break through at Tottenham. The only way his career can get back on track is a permanent move elsewhere.
It speaks volumes that his highlight in a Spurs shirt was an assist he produced against Fulham last season. The Frenchman has not had a chance, neither has he done enough to earn one.
With Jack Clarke set to return to Spurs next summer, Nkoudou needs to leave.
