George Marsh's heroic Tottenham under 23s display puts him in Pochettino's thinking
When Japhet Tanganga was sent off just before half-time, with Billy Gilmour tucking away the consequent penalty to equalise for Chelsea under 23s against Tottenham under 23s on Friday, it wasn’t looking good for Spurs.
However, what nobody was expecting was the magnificent display from George Marsh. Having made his first team debut against Tranmere Rovers earlier this year, he continues to impress.
The 20-year-old holding midfielder dropped into defence, a role he has taken up from time to time in the past, and proved to be the reason that Spurs would hold on to see out the result for a point.

Solid defensively and immediately looking to organise the backline, his strong form and versatility will surely have caught the eye of Mauricio Pochettino given the similarities ot the likes of Eric Dier.
Pochettino is always keen to have flexible options in his squad and Marsh could present just that, having also previously played on the right at different stages in his career.
With impressive potential and room for further improvement, it may not be a surprise to see Marsh given more first team chances before the end of the season.
