Swansea City midfielder and well-renowned Rangers fan George Byers has joked that Gers midfielder Ryan Jack is set to win the Ballon d’Or after two stunning goals against Ross County on Wednesday night.
After a lacklustre display against Motherwell on the weekend in which Rangers stumbled to a 2-1, Steven Gerrard had challenged his players to go to Dingwall and win convincingly against the newly-promoted side.
They did just that. Top scorer Alfredo Morelos got Rangers off to a flyer, tapping home after some good movemen in the box. But it was Jack that took the game by the srcuff of the neck. He scored two excellent curled efforts from the edge of the area.
Morelos slammed home a second but it was Jack that won the plaudits, with Steven Gerrard heaping praise on the Scotland international in his post-match comments. Rangers fan Byers joked that the Ballon d’Or is on the horizon.

TBR’s view – Is Jack the best midfielder in Scottish football?
Based on current form, the ex-Aberdeen star probably is the best midfielder in Scottish football. Certainly, he is the best of Rangers’ options – even more so than Glen Kamara, Steven Davis and Andy King.
Scott Brown, Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie are all excellent midfielders – the latter making a stunning start to the season. But received a straight red earlier this month and that probably makes Jack just edge it.
