‘Genuinely upset’: Some Liverpool fans rage as rival club confirm transfer for ‘the next Thierry Henry’

Liverpool have missed out on the signing of Patson Daka, who today was announced as a Leicester City player.

The Foxes confirmed on their official website that they have completed the signing of the Zambia star. According to the Daily Mail, the Reds, as well as Manchester City and Manchester United, were keen on Daka.

Indeed, 22-year-old striker was one of the best performing players outside of Europe’s top-five leagues. The attacker hit 32 goals in all competitions for RB Salzburg as Daka won the Austrian Bundesliga Player of the Season award.

Furthermore, Liverpool are in the market for an attacker this summer with the Merseyside giants just scrapping a top-four finish in the Premier League. Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino both endured poor seasons under Jurgen Klopp last season.

And Daka would have been an ideal signing to add to Liverpool’s attacking ranks. Indeed, Dan Kabwe, a former coach of the Zambian star, labelled the 22-year-old as ‘the next Thierry Henry’ after watching him play for the first time.

The young attacker could have been a great addition to Liverpool. Moreover, supporters on social media are fuming that the club missed out on Daka to a Premier League rival in Leicester.

Here’s what some Liverpool fans had to say about the Foxes signing the attacker on Twitter…

Leicester paid £23m for Patson Daka according to Sky Sports News. Indeed, it is likely that the striker will be a long-term replacement for Foxes legend Jamie Vardy.
