A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans think Gareth Bale has played a blinder in saying he’s planning to return to his parent club when his Spurs loan spell ends at the end of the season.
The Welshman returned to Spurs on loan from Real Madrid in September and, following a difficult few months back in North London, is now very much up and running.
To date, Bale has made 25 appearances for Tottenham this season, scoring 10 goals and registering three assists.

Currently on international duty with Wales, the 31-year-old told a press conference of his plans at the end of the campaign.
“There’s no distraction for me,” Bale is quoted by the Evening Standard as saying.
“I think the main reason I came to Spurs this year was to play football first and foremost.
“Going into the Euros I wanted to be match-fit. The original plan was to do a season at Spurs and after the Euros still have a year left at Real Madrid.
“My plan is to go back, that’s as far I have planned.”
In response, Spanish outlet Sport have reported that Bale is not wanted back at Real Madrid by the fans, Zinedine Zidane or Florentino Perez (via Spurs Express).
While some Spurs fans weren’t impressed with Bale’s comments, others thought they were designed to get the two sides talking about extending the deal, maybe even wind up Real.
