Leeds United are set to lose one of their bright young talents to Manchester City.
Indeed, it’s been widely reported that Finley Gorman will be leaving west Yorkshire in order to head to the Etihad, and at the age of just 15, he has his whole career ahead of him.
Manchester City have put a lot of focus on youth recruitment in recent times, and this is said to be a British record transfer for a 15-year-old.
Speaking in The Square Ball Podcast, Phil Hay has been discussing Gorman’s impending move to City, and he’s shared just how much City rate this young man.
According to Hay, City see Gorman as a future superstar, claiming that they think he’s a generational talent and the best of the best in England in his position at his age.

City really rate Gorman
Hay shared what he knows about the teenager.
“They see him as sort of a generational talent. They see him as the best of the best in England in his position and at his age it’s hard not to get seduced that they think a lot of me and this place is incredible, I can end up playing for City,” Hay said.
Exciting
This is exciting to hear if you’re a Manchester City fan, but very painful if you’re a Leeds fan.
Make no mistake about it, City have some of the best talent identification abilities in the country, and if they think Gorman is a future star, they’re probably right.
Sadly, Leeds look set to lose out on this young man, but, fortunately, they have other young stars such as Archie Gray making their name at Elland Road right now.
Leeds’ academy can produce some brilliant players, and it sounds as though Gorman could be the next superstar to come from west Yorkshire.
