'Generational': Arsenal fans laud William Saliba for France under-21s display

Arsenal fans have plenty to be interested in over this international break and William Saliba, despite being on loan in France, is someone who’s under the microscope for a lot of fans.

Saliba has enjoyed an impressive start to life in Marseille this season. The decision by Mikel Arteta to let the French youngster out on loan again has been criticised by some sections of the Arsenal support.

However, for the time being at least, it’s looking like the smart play. Saliba is getting valuable minutes in the tank and developing further. Arsenal fans, obviously, hope he will be the real deal for them down the line.

Saliba is certainly on track to be that player. And this weekend saw the big defender given the honour of captaining his country. The Gunners starlet handed the armband for the France under-21s as they faced Ukraine last night.

And Saliba has reasons to be cheerful about skippering that team. France won 5-0, as they had too much in the locker for the Eastern European side.

Arsenal fans, then, were delighted to see their man doing well and were all over Twitter singing Saliba’s praises.
