Wolverhampton Wanderers’ growing Portuguese contingent is taking the club from strength to strength after a stunning first season in the Premier League.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are in the FA Cup semi-finals and are in pole position to finish seventh in the Premier League in their first season back in the top flight.
With the likes of Rui Patricio, Helder Costa, Diogo Jota, Ivan Cavaleiro, Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves all starring in the first-team, it is clear that their Portuguese influence is having a positive effect on the club.
And it looks like Wolves are already lining up their next Portuguese star, according to reports. A Bola claims that Gedson Fernandes is on Wolves’ radar.

The 20-year-old is already playing regular football for Benfica with 39 appearances to his name for the first-team. And the twice-capped Portugal international is clearly a top talent, who has a big future in the game.
Gedson operates in central midfield – an area where Wolves are currently blessed with options. Moutinho, Neves and Leander Dendoncker are all at the top of their game.
But looking ahead to the long-term future, Gedson would be a shrewd acquisition. With Moutinho turning 33 next season, Gedson could be his long-term successor at Molineux.
And Gedson could also provide Neves with a long-term central midfield partner for both club and country.
