Gary Neville has told The Overlap that he was impressed by Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez in Liverpool’s defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, and it was actually the display of Mo Salah which worried him.
The Reds are still awaiting the moment that their season ignites. They currently sit in mid-table in the Premier League. Remarkably, they are actually below Bournemouth, the team they beat 9-0 earlier this season.

Sunday’s trip to Arsenal had the potential to be a turning point. The Gunners are absolutely flying and had the chance to return to the top of the table.
Liverpool did have some bright moments, particularly in the first-half. However, the Reds suffered another loss on the road. And with that, the inquest into what is going on at Anfield right now is underway.

For some, the departure of Sadio Mane has had a big impact. And it is probably fair to suggest that Nunez is yet to really get going following his big summer move.
Neville worried about Salah
However, Neville suggested that he was happy with what he saw from the striker at the Emirates. Instead, it is another player he is really concerned about.
“I watched Liverpool on Sunday, I watched them at Old Trafford. And people talk about the fact that Mane’s missing. But actually, Diaz, I thought Jota, and Nunez in particular were pretty decent. They were a real threat,” he told The Overlap.
“And the actual most worrying performance for me out of that Liverpool front four is the world star, the one that’s been nearest to winning the top awards, it was Mo Salah.”
For any other player, a return of two goals and three assists in eight league games would not be terrible by any means. But for Salah, that is not good enough given the standards he has set.
He has not looked the same player this season.
Of course, it still says that a lot that he is contributing even when not at his best. And it would not be a surprise if his form did turn around at some stage.
He is one of the best players the Premier League has seen. And whatever happens, he will leave Liverpool as a legendary figure.
As Neville notes, Liverpool have so much quality in the final third. It is not clicking right now. But when it does, the Reds have every chance of getting right back on track.
