Gary Neville shares which club he likes more - Arsenal or Chelsea
Gary Neville has given his verdict on Arsenal under Mikel Arteta this season.
The Manchester United pundit, speaking on The Overlap, admitted he prefers the Gunners to Chelsea.
Somewhat more predictably, Neville said he liked Arsenal more than Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Gunners have been flying high this season, remaining top of the Premier League table after 13 games.
Arsenal are also in the last 16 of the Europa League after finishing top of their group.
For the first time in years, there is genuine hope among Gunners fans that their side can land the title.
Arteta has had his fair share of criticism over the years, but his efforts are finally coming to fruition.
And Neville hopes Arsenal succeed in getting past a tricky February and March, and going all the way.
“The moment in the season where the acid test will arrive – in February and March,” he said on The Overlap.
“And that’s the bit for me that has to be answered. I hope they answer for it I hope Mikel Arteta answers it because….”
Jamie Carragher then said: “No you don’t!”
Neville replied: “Why would I not?
“I like them more than Liverpool, I like them more than Chelsea, I like them more than City!”
Carragher then retorted: “You want to be proven right! You didn’t think they’d finish in the top four!”
And his fellow pundit responded by saying: “Both of us thought exactly the same thing.
“That Mikel Arteta would struggle this season and they wouldn’t get into the top four.
“I think they will get into the top four now, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t.”
Carragher then joked: “Can’t lose then can you?!”
Laughs aside, Arsenal are certainly doing incredibly well this season.
Perhaps the reason why there’s still some scepticism is just because City are such a formidable team that have won the title so many times in recent years.
No matter what happens – and the season is only a third of the way through now – Arsenal are definitely on the right path.
