Gary Neville has now shared whether he believes Aston Villa can win the Premier League this season after a historic start.
Unai Emery’s side incredibly sit second in the standings having ended 2023 unbeaten at home and claiming some huge wins against the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.
And Neville has now given his verdict on whether or not Villa can actually go all the way and win the Premier League title, with Liverpool leading by three points.

Neville said via Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football: “I don’t think they can win it but I think the fact they are up there is brilliant for Villa first and foremost but for us too.
“We need to see the top clubs can be disrupted and we need to feel that we have real competitiveness and I think Villa up there is good for the league. West Ham being up there is good for the league.
“I have faith in Unai Emery, just being over in Spain for that four months, how well thought of he was over there and knew the job he was doing over there. It didn’t work out at Arsenal but he went back to Spanish football was sensational and what he is doing at Villa is fantastic.
Aston Villa must believe they can win the Premier League

It’s a sentence nobody would have predicted at the start of the season, but come the halfway point, Villa are genuine contenders for the Premier League title.
Emery has transformed Villa Park into the most dangerous ground in the entire league, with the likes of Ollie Watkins and John McGinn potential Player of the Season contenders.
And the squad must start believing that they can win the Premier League, especially after everything Villa have accomplished already this season.
Whilst the second half of the campaign is always harder, smart signings this month and healthy squad rotation will keep Villa in the race, with Emery doing an outstanding job at the club.
