The Gunners saw a goal from Bukayo Saka prove enough for them to see off the Villans, who rallied in the second half and might have been annoyed not to have snatched and equalising goal. In the end, though, it is Arsenal who get the three points and another big win.

And a big win is how Gary Neville described the result for Arsenal, as he took to Twitter to provide his immediate reaction to the 1-0 win at Villa Park.

Once again it was Bukayo Saka who proved to be the difference. Saka has taken his game to another level in recent weeks and looks to now be the key player in this Arsenal side.

For Villa, it means they go into the international break ninth in the table and with their own European hopes fading a lot.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are now in pole position for the top four spots and Mikel Arteta will be delighted with what he saw from his team.

TBR’s View: Arsenal Keep On Improving

No Ramsdale, no Martinelli, but Arsenal showed the fighting qualities needed to really challenge for the Champions League spots.

This was a different type of win really. One where they got the goal then simply dug in as a team to hang on. These sorts of three points are huge, and Neville is right in his brief assessment.
