Gary Neville told Sky Sports during the live broadcast of Arsenal’s win over Manchester United yesterday that he thought Gabriel was the Gunners’ best player.
The French defender was impressive against the Red Devils and although most people were raving about Thomas Partey, Neville identified another star performer.
Gabriel arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Lille for £27 million and is now starting to take the Premier League by storm.

The defender looks like exactly the sort of player that Arsenal have been crying out for and supporters have been delighted with his form.
They aren’t the only ones and Neville was quick to praise the player after yesterday’s 1-0 victory.
He told Sky Sports: “Arsenal’s defensive performance has been brilliant, from front to back, but the back three have been good.
“Gabriel has been fantastic, so far I’d say he’s been the best player on the pitch for me.”
Plenty of people are claiming that Partey is Arsenal’s signing of the previous transfer window.
Gabriel is certainly doing his level best to prove such a notion wrong though, with his performances superb so far.
Arsenal won at Old Trafford for the first time in 14 years yesterday with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring a second-half penalty.

In recent years it hasn’t been scoring goals that has been the problem for the Gunners, it has been some calamitous defending.
Gabriel’s arrival appears to have gone a long way towards cutting that out and with the Brazilian in the team, they could be set for a positive campaign.
