'He had to grab him': Gary Neville saw what Conte did to one happy Spurs player against Arsenal last night

Heung-Min Son looked far from happy when Antonio Conte took him off for Tottenham during last night’s win over Arsenal.

The South Korean forward is within touching distance of snatching the Premier League Golden Boot from Mo Salah, but was withdrawn last night after scoring Spurs’ third goal. Once again, Son was at the heart of so much good Spurs produced, with Harry Kane his partner in crime once more.

However, speaking on Sky Sports co-comms last night, Gary Neville noticed what Son did when he was taken off by Conte. And notably, that the Spurs boss even had to grab him for a hug when Son left the pitch.

“He’s not too happy is Son. He’s not got a snap in him, he’s such a professional. That’s as close as he’s going to get. Hojbjerg’s having a word with him. That’s a load of rubbish [Son saying he didn’t care about the golden boot]. He’s proven that here. Conte is giving him a hug and had to grab him,” Neville pointed out on Sky.

The win for Tottenham puts them within a point of Arsenal with just two Premier League fixtures remaining. On paper, Spurs have the easier task than Arsenal, who face both Everton and Newcastle.

TBR’s View: What Son Did When Subbed Will Secretly Please Conte

While it looked a bit dramatic for the cameras and Neville was right to point it out, Son’s attitude here will probably please Conte deep down.

The Italian wants his team to be ruthless winners and Son showing disappointment cos he feels more goals were there for him is a bonus really.

Son has been outstanding all season for Tottenham as we know. And if he can snatch the golden boot, then that will be just reward for a brilliant season for the Spurs ace.
