Arsenal beat Chelsea yesterday as they continued to cement their title chances thanks to a goal from Brazilian defender, Gabriel.
The Gunners centre-half bundled a Bukayo Saka corner over the line to win the game. It was yet another scrappy and hard-fought win by Arsenal, as they moved back top of the pile.
Once again, there was some free-flowing football on display from Mikel Arteta’s side. But watching on for Sky, Gary Neville said he was more impressed with Mikel Arteta’s willingness to change it up a bit, as Thomas Partey bombed in a number of long throws.

“There were things for me in the first half that were quite interesting. Watching the long throws from Arsenal. I liked it.
“Because Arteta is obviously a coach that likes progressive football. He likes the idea of playing through the thirds. His team plays great football. But the idea he was willing to put a long throw in there against Chelsea with Partey or against other teams. And I like it. And I like the fact they won a game from a set-piece,” Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast.
Like all good teams, Arsenal found a way to win. And that, whether it comes from a corner, long throw, or a deflection from a scuffed shot, is what makes successful teams.
TBR’s View: Arsenal keep on grinding wins out
Another big test for Arsenal. And another big test passed for Arsenal.
This was a statement win for the Gunners. They have been handed a number of tough asks this season already but every time, they’ve come out fighting and up to the task.
As ,momentum keeps building, the World Cup is coming at the worse possible time for Arsenal.
However, Arteta will be delighted with his team. Arsenal’s use of throw-ins was interesting as well. That might well win them games down the line and is something Arteta will surely use more often.
