Gary Neville has named the three Chelsea players who ‘really impressed’ him at Manchester City.

The Blues picked up a hard-fought point at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday as they continued their recent upturn in form under Mauricio Pochettino

Raheem Sterling opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 42nd minute and despite a late equaliser from Rodri, Pochettino’s side deserved something from the game.

There was much to admire about their performance, particularly as they continued to attempt to play through City’s relentless press.

Now, Gary Neville has highlighted the performances of Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher in midfield.

Neville impressed with three Chelsea players at Man City

Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, Neville reflected on the 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

“I thought that Enzo Fernandez, Caicedo and Conor Gallagher, they showed real guts and you need that against Manchester City when you’re playing there because not many teams get a point off them,” the pundit said.

“Not many teams beat them let alone get a point off them, they beat everybody nearly. For me, I was really impressed with Chelsea.”

Since suffering a 4-2 defeat at home to Wolves, Pochettino’s men have picked up two wins and a draw in all competitions.

With the final of the League Cup final just around the corner, they are finding form at an ideal time.

Gallagher has impressed all season with his tireless work ethic and has arguably been Chelsea’s standout performer in midfield.

As for Fernandez and Caicedo, both players have improved dramatically over the past couple of weeks following slow starts to the season.

Chelsea have invested heavily in their midfield, with both Fernandez and Caicedo yet to justify their hefty price tags.

But Pochettino will be encouraged by their recent performances and the Argentine coach seems to have found a midfield trio that strikes the right balance.
